Planet Jazz With Tony

National music writer, musician and ABC regional radio broadcaster Tony Hillier has returned to the airwaves of Cairns FM89.1 – a station he once managed – to produce/present a new weekly program. “I initiated “Planet Jazz” to combine my favourite genres”, says Hillier, pointing out that since the genre’s early days, jazz players have coloured their musical canvasses from a global palette.

“With the program, which features new releases each week along with classic blasts from the past, I endeavour to demonstrate that jazz is a broad and eclectic church. ‘Planet Jazz’ also features the only definitive gig guide to Cairns and environs”.
